Social Skills and Connection

Social skills are part of confidence, connection, independence, and long term opportunity.

For children, teens, and young adults with developmental differences, learning challenges, anxiety, ADHD, autism, or complex needs, social skills may affect school success, friendships, emotional regulation, employment, and adult independence.

Healing Complex Kids® shares these resources to help families support social growth in practical, respectful, and developmentally appropriate ways.

The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) is world-renowned for providing evidence-based social skills programs to preschoolers, adolescents, and young adults who are interested in developing and maintaining close friendships and/or romantic relationships.

First developed at UCLA by PEERS® Clinic director, Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson, the program has expanded to locations across the United States, has been translated into over a dozen languages, and is used in over 150 countries across the globe.

Social growth takes time, practice, patience, and support.

Families don’t have to figure it out alone.
